Range - Breeds from northern California, eastern Nebraska, southern Ontario, and maritime Canada southward. Spend winters in southern part of range
Habitat - farmlands, roadsides, thickets, and towns, city parks, desert brush
Unique Characteristics or Habits - Eats fruit, insects, spiders, and other small animals. Mockingbirds will ferociously protect their eggs and young; they will even swoop down and attack cats or people.
